HI Debbie,
We have a seminar that we hold annually for all incoming graduate students. It is not required, unless their department requires them to attend, and it is conducted on Zoom and a webinar.
The webinar itself is 2 hours, features two guest speakers (usually faculty members who discuss the role safety or EHS has played in their work/career), and we have multiple different EHS personnel give overviews
of practices and resources for physical safety, biological safety, and chemical safety.
We usually have students from about 80 different departments, so we try to be as inclusive as possible in our discussions and topics.
Let me know if you’d like to chat more about how we do this. I’d be happy to share more details.
Regards,
~Alex
