This educator did not practise his safety and laboratory rules well. First when working with learners I believe it's always mandatory that all chemicals are checked before experimenting with them. Eating, drinking both from the lab chemicals and in the lab is prohibited regardless of what type of chemical was produced.
OMG!
Unbelievable - there are no other words. I just cannot wrap my head
around the fact that a science educator would be encouraging
students to taste things at all in a science laboratory.
