CHAS Chat: Navigating Organic Solvent Use in Laboratories

The Division of Chemical Health & Safety (CHAS) Two-Year College (2YC) Community of Practice invites all interested in chemical health and safety at two-year colleges and similar institutions to participate in our quarterly CHAS Chats.

Our next session, Navigating Organic Solvent Use in Laboratories, will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 4:00-5:00 PM EDT. The 2YCC Community of Practice Chair, Dwayne Henry, will lead this interactive discussion. Topics include:

• Overview of current environmental regulations.
• Resources for substituting organic solvents.
• Risk assessment techniques for handling common organic solvents.
• Discussion of health hazards related to solvent use.

Participation is open and free to everyone—you do not need to be affiliated with a two-year college or the 2YCC Community to join.
