Hey everyone,
We just wrapped up our first two 2025 Safer Science Summits, and I wanted to share a short video that captures some of the energy, conversations, and impact from this year.
🎥 Check it out here: https://youtu.be/JbgB3aerFVo?si=iuzP7V3Ec_bxJSOk (it’s about 5 minutes long)
This gives a glimpse into what it looks like when science teachers come together to go beyond checklists and start building real systems to make their classrooms safer.
A few things that stuck with us (a few more items in the impacts image attached):
– Over 20% of teachers we surveyed said they’ve thought about leaving the classroom because they don’t feel safe or supported.
– Many didn’t know what a Chemical Hygiene Plan or CHO was—or that their school was even supposed to have one.
If you’re passionate about safer science, teacher support, or helping schools move from reactive to resilient, we’d love for you to give it a watch and share it with your network.
Big shoutout to all our partners and sponsors—ACS CINTACS, Michelman, Carolina® Science, UC, and so many others—for making these summits possible.
I would love to hear what you think.
