Dear CHAS Member,

I am excited to invite you to submit an abstract for our upcoming symposium at ACS Fall 2026 in Chicago, Illinois (August 23–27, 2026).

Symposium: From Laboratory Bench to Community Connecting Bench-Scale Safety Culture with Broader Environmental Health Outcomes
Division: Chemical Health and Safety (CHAS)

This symposium explores how decisions made at the laboratory bench can shape environmental and community well-being far beyond the walls of the lab. The session will spotlight practical, forward-looking approaches to reducing chemical hazards before they become community-level exposures, while advancing prevention, source reduction, and safer scientific practice.

Topics of interest include:
• Bench-scale safety
• Prevention and source reduction
• Safer science practices
• Sustainability
• Worker, community, and ecosystem health

We welcome interdisciplinary contributions from researchers, EHS professionals, industry leaders, regulators, educators, and community-engaged scientists.

📅 Abstract Submission Deadline: March 30, 2026
📍 Participation: In person in Chicago, IL, or virtual if travel is not feasible

To submit your abstract, visit:
callforabstracts.acs.org/acsfall2026/CHAS

We encourage all members working at the intersection of chemistry, safety, and community health to consider submitting. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your work with a broad, interdisciplinary audience.

Please feel free to forward this invitation to colleagues who may be interested.

Best,
