Demystify:

Colleagues,

I have an announcement about a new resource from the UC Center for Laboratory Safety.

Many people know about our collection of more than 40 Lessons Learned:

https://cls.ucla.edu/lessons-learned

Now we have released 30 Safety Tips:

https://cls.ucla.edu/safety-tips

Safety Tips are meant as announcements to raise safety awareness about topics in research safety. As such, they can be emailed to researchers, included in departmental newsletters, posted on announcement boards, shown on wall monitors, or used in meetings.

They are intended to remind researchers about specific safety topics in context and some are based on actual incidents. They are not intended to cover all of the technical or legal aspects of each specific safety issue but can serve as a quick reminder of key points or can initiate more detailed discussions.

The Center created Safety Tips as a public service, so institutions have permission to download and use them for promoting research safety. Safety Tips are posted as WORD documents so institutions can customize them to fit their needs. Safety Tips meet the 2024 WCAG 2.1 AA Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Best,

Craig
