One thing that has become clear from the 70 or so DCHAS-L survey
responses I've received so far (thanks to everyone who has
responded!) is that we have neglected to let people know who else is
on the list and how it might be used for division and ACS. The New
EPA Lab Rule is a good example.
The ACS has a Task Force on Laboratory Environmental Health and
Safety that has been consulting with the EPA about the shape of this
new rule for about 3 years. The Task Force is charged with preparing
the ACS' technical comments on this rule. Many of the 11 or so
members of the task force are part of DCHAS and are on the DCHAS-L
(including me). If you have comments you would like to have the task
force consider, feel free to forward them to me and I'll bring them
to the committee's attention.
In the next few weeks, I'll provide more general background
information about who's on the DCHAS-L list (how many people, what
domains are represented, etc.) as well as the survey results. Please
feel free to continue to send your surveys in. If you've lost your
survey form, it's available in the list archives at
http://list.uvm.edu/archives/dchas-l.html
or let me know and I'll send you another copy.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
