Laboratory Safety Director
Albany College of Pharmacy (www.acp.edu) is seeking candidates for a
full-time lab safety director. Ideal candidates will have
comprehensive knowledge of federal, state and local safety
regulations as well as a B.S. in Chemistry or Biology (M.S./Ph.D.
preferred) and a minimum of five years experience with increasing
responsibility in the implementation and/or administration of
academic laboratory safety programs. Related safety certifications a plus.
Responsibilities include administering and/or managing biological,
chemical and radiation safety programs and training; serving as the
College's laboratory safety officer (LSO); developing and
implementing a laboratory emergency response plan; helping ensure
up-to-date inventories, proper storage of laboratory materials and
current certification of equipment in the labs; and overseeing the
acquisition, transport, use and disposal of hazardous materials.
Founded in 1881, Albany College of Pharmacy is the oldest pharmacy
school in New York State and one of the only private, independent
pharmacy schools in the United States. The College has a long history
of serving its students and health care professionals as one of the
premier pharmacy colleges in the nation. ACP now enters a new era in
health care with a focus not only on pharmacy, but also on
pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical technology and research.
