You should check out Engelhardt and Associates, based in Madison Wisconsin.   My successor as RSO has attended two of their training sessions and reports that do give a good perspective for academic institutions.  They have consulting contracts with several colleges and universities.
Training sessions are given at Madison, Wi; Las Vegas, and Florida, among others.
