Subject: DCHAS 2007 Elections Upcoming

As approved by a membership vote last year, the 2007 CHAS elections
will be held electronically this year, with paper postcard ballots
sent to the about 10% of the membership without e-mail addresses on
record. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO VOTE BY REPLYING TO THIS MESSAGE.
Each CHAS member with an e-mail address will receive an e-mail with
voting instructions from vote-now.com on or about July 15. This is
the on-line election service being used by several other ACS divisions.

The voting period will be between July 15 and August 15, 2007. There
are 6 candidates and one question to be voted on this year. The list
of candidates nominated by the Executive Committee is below. Write-in
votes will be allowed on the ballot.

Biographical information for the candidates and pro and con
statements on the question will be sent in a separate e-mail. For a
description of the duties associated with the various offices, you
can download the CHAS administrative manual from the CHAS web site
(the link is at the bottom of the left column):
http://membership.acs.org/c/chas/

I will be traveling for the next two weeks, but will be available to
answer questions about the election process from July 23 until the
end of the election period. The Division Chair, Barbara Foster
, is also available to answer questions about the
election.

Thanks for your interest in DivCHAS!
