Dear CHAS List,

I am helping to coordinate a Laboratory Safety and Health roundtable at
next
years American Industrial Hygiene Association's Conference in Toronto.

We are looking for two things:

1. A list of topics to present at the roundtable, and more importantly,

2. Speakers to present their topics.

Some topics proposed are as follows (although at this time we are wide
open
to suggestions):

*         bringing in/starting EMS within a lab;

*         animal allergens within a lab (policy, control, issues);

* environmental assessment of lab before demo (what is typically
found, policy, issues, rad versus chem);

* application of the fire safety code in the design and
construction
of labs (issues, typical code inclusions, special considerations);

* involvement of health and safety issues to reduce energy costs
within labs (policies, impact).

If you have ideas or are interested in presenting a topic, please
contact me.
We are trying to confirm a possible panel by the end of August.

Thanks for your time.
