Demystify:
I wrote one for my labs in HyperCard back in the 90's. HyperCard
hasn't been supported for years and requires Mac OS 8 or 9 (or OS X
running in Classic Mode), so that also means you can't use it on an
Intel-based Mac or with Leopard. And I just tried it with Tiger and
hung it in Classic Mode, so you'd ideally need to use this on really
old surplus Mac.

But if you want a copy, it was pretty slick. Just about most things
you might want except bar coding. And you can bulk import data from a
spreadsheet. It requires HyperCard 2.2. or higher, although it is
available as a standalone application with the HyperCard engine built
in. You can customize lots of things (and everything if you own a
copy of HyperCard).

If anyone is interested given the ancient requirements you can view
the manual with screenshots here:
http://www.ilpi.com/help/chemventory/chemventory_manual.pdf

If that intrigues you, download the package containing both the
compiled standalone version, HyperCard stack version (requires
HyperCard 2.2 or higher) and docs here:
http://www.ilpi.com/help/chemventory/ChemventoryApp.zip

If anyone uses or tries this thing, I'd be curious to know.

I'll bet a lot of folks have their own FileMaker or Excel setups
they'll offer as well.

Best regards,

Rob Toreki
