FYI to all:

They work quite well.  I continue to be pleased with their performance in our academic chemistry laboratories.
I summarized our departmental mercury thermometer replacement history in a paper that was published in the Journal of Chemical Education in February 2005.
Please contact me to request a reprint or if you wish to further discuss this issue.
Best regards,
Barbara

Does anyone have any info on how well these thermometers from VWR work?  Also, how do they hold up in use?  Does the "Non-hazardous, non-toxic, biodegradable liquid" separate in the column?
Thanks in advance,
Sammye
