Hello List Members,

We have been using a Fluor/Away High volume filtration setup for filte ring low concentration aqueous ethidium bromide solutions for many years wi thout any issue.  Within the past year we have experienced a series of filter failures whereby the carbon media somehow breaks through and is dis charged through the effluent side of the filter.  The supplier did fol low up with a replacement filter the first time it was reported but could o ffer no reason.  I have just experienced the same problem again and am wondering if anyone else that uses this system is experiencing the sa me problem.

I would also be interested in alternate EtBr disposal solutions that o thers may be utilizing.

Sincerely,

Anthony Santoro
