Environmental Health & Safety Officer
The
Environmental Health & Safety Officer will report to the Scientific
Assistant to the President and will provide technical advice and oversight
to develop,
implement and sustain environmental, health and safety programs that safegu
ard
employees and other assets. The EH&S Officer serves as a resource provi
ding
leadership and advice to the Institute on all matters pertaining to a safe,
healthy work environment. This position administers the Institute's
environmental health and safety programs in partnership with departments
throughout TPIMS.
Exp
erience
- 5+
years of prior hands-on experience in the area of environmental health
and
safety administration is required.
- Demonstrated
ability to manage a safety program impacting multiple units such as an
institutional-wide program.
- Demonstrated
ability in establishing and implementing health and safety training
programs.
- Demonstrated
ability to manage diverse technical personnel.
- Demonstrated
ability to analyze a complex research lab operation and establish
priorities based on hazard and risk assessments in both chemistry and
biology.
