Broken Foot and Open-toed Shoes
Commenting on the absorbency
issues and the water resistant coverings...
I don't
think that a plastic bag would be best, because while the crushing
hazard and the cutting hazard in a lab is nothing a pair of sneakers
can't handle, dropping a 1L volumetric (or a 50ml for that matter) wont
feel all that good on a set of toes covered by nothing more then a
plastic bag, and in the event the student has to navigate out of an area
with broken glass on the floor, the toes won't be
protected.
Covering the top with a bag however is probably a good
idea as the absorbency of the cast will make an interesting scenario in
the event a spill happens and a safety shower is
needed.
