Frankie:

If Fuel and Petroleum combine, is there any interest in a “subdivision” within the new unit which focuses specifically on safety?  This would be similar to the CCPS sub structure in AIChE.  If so, in some way, we could combine that special interest group with CHAS

Subject: [DCHAS-L] More Information from the National Meeting

Thanks to Bob for posting the Councilor Talking Points –

But here are some other information from the National Meeting:

1)      If you haven’t been on the ACS Network lately – there have been lots of changes.  It now gives you ability blog, post documents, etc.  There is a lot more functionality.

2)      There will be more electronic dissemination of meeting materials from the National Meeting – Hopefully we will be able to communicate this information as to how to get these meeting materials soon – but in the mean time watch the ACS Network and ACS Home Pate.

3)      As we all know the job market is a challenge – the Committee on Economic and Professional Affairs indicated that the unemployment rate is the highest it has been since the ACS began collecting records – (in the 1970s) and it is long term – the average is 10.7 months.

4)      The Fuel and Petroleum Divisions are looking to combine.

5)      If you are interested in Sustainability check out these resources: http://pubs.acs.org/cen/ sustainability/, http://pubs.acs.org/cen/env ironment/, http://acswebcontent.acs.org/sustainability/vendor_full_prod.html
