We tend to get this in construction deali ng with hard hats a fair amount with headgear worn by various Indian and Pa kistani religious people. Their reigion does not accept them wearing anythi ng on top of their head covering, nor can they remove it. In construction t he hazards are such that not wearing a hard hat will preclude them from tra veling much beyond the trailer.

The Risk Assessment for the THA exists for a reason - S-A-F-E-T-Y. The person signing the THA c ould not receive a waiver of liability from the student to wear it anyway.< /SPAN>

Could others tell me how you deal with a student who wears a Burka taking an organic chemistry class, or any lab c lass for that matter?  We certainly don=E2=80=99t want to discriminate religiously, so how do we deal with the safety issues of that.  Surpr isingly this is the first time this situation has arisen for us.

Thanks,
MaryAnn
