Jay Young, one of he founders of the discipline of chemical safety, died on Thursday, in his sleep, during a violent thunder storm.  His family is convinced the storm represented his passing into a better life.

 

While I have expressed the sentiments of his friends in CHAS to his family, they would appreciate cards:

A memorial service – a dedicate to life – will be held in Silver Springs, MD on 11:00 on Monday, 17 Oct.  Details can be obtained from his family by calling 650 714 2078.

 

His last professional work – a remembrance of the early days of CHAS – will be presented in a memorial session to him at the San Diego National ACS meeting next March.

 

Please take a moment to think about a great person and how is efforts have influenced you and truly made the world a better place.
