I’m wondering if any universities out there have policies regarding the transportation of chemicals/biologicals.  I don’t really cover this item in my CHP in any detail other than stating  they need to use the shipping/receiving dept. to ship.  The shipping/receiving dept. has procedures for shipping, as well, but what I’m looking for is if any institution has an institutional policy prohibiting staff and faculty from transporting in their personal vehicles; and, is any distinction made between hazardous materials (DOT) and non hazardous by DOT.   Likewise, any policies for visiting scientists and how they bring in their materials, if any?

As always, your help is invaluable….Rachel
