Industrial Hygienist. Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS seeks an Industrial Hygienist in the Department of Environmental Health & Safety. This position reports to the Occupational Safety Manager and conducts occupational health surveys, including measuring air flow, noise, chemical and other hazardous contaminants in the work environment. Will evaluate the interaction of chemicals and gases in the workplace, identify toxic substances, assist with compliance of the Chemical Hygiene Standard, assist with the Worker Right to Know program, and assist with compliance of the Department of Homeland Security "Chemical Facility Standard." This person will also assist with compliance with OSHA regulations, safety training and other EH&S educational seminars.

A bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field is required. Applicant should have a working knowledge of U.S. OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene instrumentation and monitoring schemes, excellent oral and written communication skills and must be physically able to wear a respirator and to participate in an emergency response team. Valid Kansas Drivers license. NIMS training, 40-hour HAZWOPER training, asbestos inspector training, lead inspector training required within 6 months of hiring.

Salary range is $40,000-$46,000.
