All-

The CHAS Executive Committee is seeking a Social Chair to succeed Russ Phifer, the current Social Chair.

The duties of the Social Chair are shown below as described in the DivCHAS Administrative Manual. Russ indicated he will be happy to work with the new social chair to transition them into the role for the next few CHAS events. The upcoming New Orleans meeting would be a great opportunity for the new Social Chair to be on boarded by Russ.

Please reply to Schmidt.dg.1**At_Symbol_Here**pg.com and Russ Phifer [rphifer**At_Symbol_Here**wcenvironmental.com] if you are interested in serving as Social Chair for DivCHAS.

Thank you.

Diane G. Schmidt

2013 DivCHAS Chair

Job Description:  DivCHAS Social Chair (see Administrative Manual, #111)

The primary responsibility of the Social Chair is to organize & coordinate Division social events, typically oriented around ACS national meetings. Responsibilities may include coordinating with other Divisions on join events (we frequently share with SCHB and/or other small Divisions), locating potential venues, identifying menu options, and coordinating costs with the Division Treasurer. While it is not necessary to attend every National meeting, it is helpful in terms of working with venue representatives on setup, A/V as appropriate, and management of beverage options.

The Social Committee is a full-functioning Division Committee, the Chair holds membership on the Executive Committee and is entitled to partial reimbursement of expenses to attend ACS National meetings.
