A couple other things to think about. No water soluble dyes to leak out of the truck/ compactor on the way to the landfill? No truly toxic materials that could hurt the waste handlers?  Does BU have a plastic/metal recycler that would take them? If no to the above I'd feel comfortable with general trash.  Good luck!

I would like your advice:  If you have filters (such as for ductless fume hoods) that have been tested and determined to be below the TCLP (toxicity characteristic leaching procedure), i.e. non-hazardous waste, how do you dispose of them?  Regular trash?
