They are sent to our stockroom.  Chemicals are not delivered directly to the researcher.

The problem with pcards is that the originator frequently delivers the chemicals directly to their office or elsewhere.  The office staff are not trained in chemical hazards awareness and cannot legality receive them.  They also do not know what to do with the chemical - some are unstable and some need refrigeration. 

If they ship the chemicals to the storeroom it should be ok.

Most of our chemicals are placed on standing purchase orders through the stockroom but we also place some orders for chemicals from other chemical providers with a pcard.  But these are also placed centrally by the Department, not directly by the researchers.
