Talk about old-school, but it works.  We have a paging system (loud speakers) throughout our plants which is a part of our phone system and is used for any warnings, evacuations, or "disaster" notifications.  Since it is part of our paging system it is essentially in constantly being tested.  Modern phones now have paging speaker capabilities built into them which we also use in the corporate office.

I realize this is not particularly a lab safety topic but it is an important part of safety on campus and I have all of you to possibly provide some valuable input.  Our campus has alerting via text msg., email, cell phone, etc. and we are interested in a loud speaker systems for the same purpose.

Do you on your campus have alerting by a loud speaker system.  Do you like it and can you point me to vendors who have supplied your system and with whom you are pleased?

Thanks,
