Job Description

To coordinate and carry out the day-to-day functions of a risk based auditing program of Ohio University Laboratories and Research Areas to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements. To assist in the proper management of laboratory hazardous materials and waste in teaching and research laboratories as part of the inspection process. To assist the Biological Safety Officer and Chemical Hygiene Officer in support of other University safety and compliance matters.

 

Minimum Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this job are a bachelor’s degree in a life science, engineering, physical science, health or safety field. The minimum experience is at least 2 years of experience working in laboratory safety and compliance, or at least five years of experience working in a large highly regulated research laboratory or an equivalent combination of the two. This position also requires the demonstrated ability to conduct audits, safety inspections, or quality assurance tasks, write concise summaries, and follow-up on deficiencies.
