At a meeting of our Chemical and Biological Safety Committee today, we talked about developing a safety awards program to recognize positive safety efforts by undergrad students in teaching and research labs as well as faculty who oversee labs with above average safety performance. We are an undergraduate institution with an active research program that involves a lot of different chemical and biological disciplines.

I wonder if anyone on the list has developed such a program, particularly in terms of a set of awards criteria that would be appropriate for this setting?

Thanks for any help with this.
