If you are working with safety culture improvement and have the travel budget; the following is well worth considering.  I just returned from an IAEA conference on nuclear power plant operational safety and safety culture was a major topic for 1-1/2 days of a 4 day conference.  I learned an amazing amount.

Next year the IAEA marks 30 years of work strengthening safety culture worldwide.  To reflect upon the knowledge accumulated since the concept of safety culture was identified as one of the main lessons learned from the Chernobyl accident, the IAEA is inviting the global nuclear community to an International Conference on Human and Organizational Aspects of Assuring Nuclear Safety — Exploring 30 Years of Safety Culture.

The conference will be held at the IAEA’s Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, from 22 to 26 February 2016.

State-of-the-art knowledge on human and organizational aspects will be applied to design an interactive conference enabling dialogue, reflection and sharing of knowledge, experience and approaches across cultures, disciplines and fields of expertise.

For more details, please visit our conference website.

Please note that the deadline for submitting synopses of papers and for applying for grants is 14 August 2015.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Vienna.
