HI April!
1. Yes
2. General, chemical, and waste.
3. Annually.
4. To prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, building codes, fire codes and more. The lab safety standard recommends regular inspections and fume hood evals I think. It up to us to determine how we want to apply it. I can get you the exact
reference on Monday.
Have a great weekend!
Chris

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Laboratory Safety Inspections
All,
Trying to do a little benchmarking; could you please share with me:
1.)
Does your Institution do laboratory safety inspections?
2.)
What areas are covered (general safety, chemical safety, biosafety, etc)?
3.)
How often?
4.)
How did you justify the need for these inspections to leadership?
Thanks much!
