DCHAS members may be interested to know about last night's ACS Program in a Box on the Role of Chemistry in Global Security. It can be viewed on Youtube at
It was an interesting mix of presentations from government, research and environmental chemists discussing a variety of aspects of chemical security issues, from air modeling of agent dispersal, to analytical chemistry used at TSA screening sites, to extra-science considerations involved in addressing perceived threats. Many of the discussions touched on topics that often arise in the EHS context.
