I found a demo that I think could be used to show the importance of using the right fire extinguisher.  It is in the “Two Fires” video at http://chemagic.org/home/demovideos.html# and is the one where they stick the magnesium into the CO2 foam.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Science Expo Ideas

Good Morning-

Our EHS department is participating for the first time in the University-wide science expo and we are trying to come up with some ideas for demonstrations for our theme, “Safe Science”.  Just wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this and could provide some suggestions?  Thanks!

-Cathy
