As I only received one response to this question, is anyone else willing to share their policy?

Thank you,

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Sound Cancelling earbuds vs ear plugs

Greetings all,

The question has come up from our campus grounds crew about using sound cancelling earbuds vs ear plugs when working. I can see both sides of it, but we are currently weighing the risk vs wants. With ear plugs, we know the noise is reduced greatly to a safe level, with headphones, this is not easily quantified as we could be exchanging equipment noise for music.

My supervisor is interested in finding out what other campuses are doing in regards to their grounds crews and if earbuds vs ear plugs has come up. Please share if you are able.

Thank you,

Margaret Smallbrock
