This survey is being organized by CSHEMA and cross-posted here to support their effort.

Colleagues:

Happy New Year -- I sincerely hope this finds you all well and rested after the break.

On behalf of our organization unit-the Office for Research (OR) - we would be grateful for your time (perhaps others at your school, too) in helping us to gather information on how your Facilities program supports your research programs. In particular, we are interested in knowing if you have a dedicated team (or person who draws from various trades) specifically focused on research facility maintenance. What works and what does not? Who is involved, etc.?

Please know this information, consistent with the rules we communicate under, will be closely held and available to you for your use. We are especially interested in how you may (or may not) be organized and any valuable lessons learned. Our unit -OR- is undertaking a major space and facility study to inform the future of science at Northwestern and your candid feedback will go a long way toward helping us advocate for a maintenance model that is most effective.

Thanks, again, for sharing your insights with us.
