Hannah – as you know, NRCC certifies chemists in a variety of fields, including CHOs. While the majority of certificate holders are located in the US and Canada, NRCC certifies chemists certifies worldwide. We currently have CHOs in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, and the UAE, among other places. The CHO certification is clearly geared to the application of US OSHA standards and the recommendations provided in Prudent Practices in the Laboratory, but the need for strong laboratory safety professionals is universal. Our lab safety community is particularly strong here in the US, and our safety policies and procedures translate well to any location. Your associate in the UK is welcome to apply for CHO certification.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Chemical Hygiene Officer Training & Certification

I am certified as a Chemical Hygiene Officer through the National Registry of Certified Chemists and work at our plant in the United States.  My counterpart at our chemical plant in the United Kingdom was hoping to receive training and certification as well.  Does anyone know of any opportunities for those across the pond?

For reference, Emerald Kalama Chemical is an industrial chemical company.

Thank you,
