Cost for CIH using a calibrated realtime mercury vapor analyzer to assess potential employee exposures is approximately $1500/day plus travel. If it is necessary to use validated exposure evaluation methods, the cost could be somewhat higher depending on the number of samples analyzed.

I have a lot of experience with Mercury assessments and clean-ups.

Need more info on the objective of the monitoring.  If you need to pick my brain please feel free to email me directly at bmaradkel**At_Symbol_Here**gmail.com.

For real time air monitoring I suggest a Lumex MVA.  Rental is about $100/ day.   If you need to do sampling, you will need low flow air sampling pumps and appropriate media based of the objective and the method needed.  Hiring an IH to do primarily testing and drafting a report would cost $1500-$3000.  It all depends on the objective and situation.  Email me directly if needed.  Good luck..

Thank You,

Re: Cost of mercury "sniffers"

New thread please.

I was asked for information about the cost of renting or bringing in an IH to test with one of the portable mercury monitors.  I'm not familiar with this equipment. It's a rare test for us.  If the union has need of Hg monitoring, we just get the employer to hire it done.

If anyone has information on the cost or the best type of monitoring, I'd appreciate it.
