As incoming chair of the DCHAS membership committee, I wanted to let the list know that the updated 2018 DCHAS membership application is now available at
http://dchas.org/join-us/

We've had three membership inquiries this week already, so we encourage everyone to share the value of DCHAS with interested colleagues.

I also wanted to point out that the incoming chair, Joe Pickel, has put together a very helpful guide to DCHAS activities over the course of the year that will help members identify opportunities to get involved in the Division's work. The page can be found at
https://dchas.org/2018/01/01/volunteer-opportunities-in-dchas/

I can attest that active DCHAS membership is both a valuable personal professional development tool and an asset to the institution I work for. Daily access to over 1000 chemical safety professionals via the DCHAS-L e-mail list, plus staying up with changes in the field via peer-reviewed research in the Division's Journal of Chemical Health and Safety and our national meeting technical symposia are key elements in building a strong chemical safety program.

I'd appreciate any help in spreading the word!

- Ralph
