Dear All:

Our AACT colleagues have put together the RAMP template for teachers to be used. It can be found at https://teachchemistry.org/classroom-resources/safety

( please see the second link on this page titled RAMP teacher template). I think this template might be adapted to the undergraduate teaching labs.

This concise to the point and very much needed.

I have been promoting the idea that we need risk assessment documents for all experiments we do in our teaching labs. Does anyone have templates and or examples?

With the support of the ACS's Innovative Project Grant program for technical divisions, DCHAS has been working with Timothy Gallagher of the University of Bristol and a video artist to develop a short video on the the topic of laboratory risk assessments and maintaining situational awareness as work proceeds. We are nearing the end of the editing process; the current draft is available for viewing at

I'd appreciate any comments or questions DCHAS members have about the video by Thursday of this week.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.
