I suspect that DCHAS can provide particular help for YCC with regards to Goal 1 below.

More information about the YCC can be found at

Dear ACS Colleagues -

As my term as Chair of the Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) comes to a close this year, I am eager to help our Committee prepare for their future work. Two of our key goals are to (1) provide tools and support to younger chemists for diverse career opportunities & development and (2) foster & connect communities of younger chemists around the world.

To help accomplish this, I'm asking for your help in distributing two opportunities for younger chemists in your network to contribute their thoughts/opinions, and participate in our mission.

First, below, you'll find an invitation to a Virtual Networking Event, being held on July 12 **At_Symbol_Here** 1 PM ET. This is an opportunity for younger chemists to learn more about becoming active in ACS both on a National and Local level, and sharing more about their needs. Please encourage your students and colleagues to register to attend at this link:

If they are unable to attend the live event, we've also opened a Survey which may be completed anytime before August 11. This Survey provides the opportunity for Younger Chemist leaders to express their views, and to join in our mission. An incentive will be provided for all those who complete the survey. Younger Chemists may access the Survey at this link:

Thank you to each of you for supporting the younger chemists you engage with on a regular basis. If you have personal feedback on ways that our Committee can better serve your students and colleagues, or ways we can better collaborate, I welcome those as well.

I appreciate your help in forwarding along this information to younger chemist leaders!

CIBA/YCC Travel Award
This program provides funding for young and early-career chemists to travel to and participate in an ACS national or regional meeting. Through this program, the YCC and the CIBA Foundation support development of younger chemists in the chemical sciences. The award is intended for young scientists (under 35) who have post-doctoral appointments OR are within the first seven (7) years of their professional career. CIBA/YCC Young Scientist Travel Awards are awarded twice each year, in line with the ACS National Meeting, but the number of awards granted yearly will vary subject to available funding. Each award will equal $1000.

Leadership Development Award
Each year, the YCC organizes a Leadership Development Workshop that is geared toward younger chemists and is held in conjunction with the ACS Annual Leaders' Conference as part of the ACS Leadership Development system. The Leadership Development Workshop is designed to help young chemists develop into highly skilled leaders in the Society and in their chosen profession. The Leadership Development Award supports all expenses for participating in the workshop; up to 15 awards will be given annually, with the opportunity to attend at your own expense offered to other competitive applicants.
