Re Roger's comments, sounds like a great opportunity for cheap advertising rather than a value judgement if a variety of makers supported the effort with a donation of labcoat(s). The price ranges will vary as well as the level of protection and the target audience. Throw in some extra info or brochures for the non-winners to pick up. Perhaps also brochures from companies that make similar designs to have available alongside the donated or perhaps discounted coat(s). The idea is to promote protection and provide info about what's out there.

In my last position we had lab coats that were flame resistant (light-weight nomex) and also provided chemical splash protection via a coating that repelled liquids. The material also was anti-static. The coats were very comfortable and I felt gave me the best protection over any lab coat I had ever used before.
