Oh my, that and a whole lot more!

Note there are links such as How To Safely Perform Flame Tests with- and Methyl Alcohol Flame Test etc  on that page.  =E2=80=98Cause this one has never caused problems (that's the sound of my eyes rolling in my head, folks):  At least the page says "Note: A safety shield and fire blanket are highly recommended when performing this demonstration."  Always look for those words - they are  the hallmark of a quality demonstration!

Happily, this has the same principle as the ramp but no flaming solvent.  We need to think inverse on these flaming demos where possible:

It saw this too.  It made me wonder if the approach we, the ACS, is taking is the correct approach.  In addition to teaching the safe way to show the demonstration we need to discover where this teacher learned how to do this demonstration, follow the trail back to get to the source of the demonstration and correct the problem.
