Another one in the news today, this time thallium ordered over the Internet (according to a TV news report I saw).

Curious to see if details about the purchase itself emerge. The local news report suggested that the police did not believe the perpetrator's claim that he bought the chemicals with the intent of harming himself rather than his roommate.

BTW, wannabe criminals, here's a tip.  If you are going to scrawl racist epithets in someone's room and you are the only other person who has access to it, then you are pretty much the only suspect.  Obviously, one shouldn't be doing that under any circumstance, of course.
