Dear colleagues-- Just a reminder, we are still looking for interesting submissions to the Connecting Professionalism, Safety and Ethics: the Opportunities and Challenges in San Diego (Aug 24-29), to highlight the most recently adopted ACS Core Value: Professionalism, Safety and Ethics.

Connecting Professionalism, Safety and Ethics: the Opportunities and Challenges

ACS's third strategic value connects "professionalism, safety and ethics" as core elements of the Society's expectations for how chemistry will contribute to society. These words cover a wide range of concepts and topics. This symposium will describe the connections between these values and how they work together to support the chemical enterprise.

We would welcome papers that address the intersection of these concepts. For example, papers that discuss:
‰?¢ Safety data sharing: What are the ethics around sharing or not sharing of chemical safety information and insights?
‰?¢ The progress and challenges of new publication requirements that now include relevant safety
‰?¢ Educational efforts needed to support this new ACS Core Value
‰?¢ etc.

You can submit your abstracts here: https://callforpapers.acs.org/sandiego2019/CHAS (note this is a revised link from my last message) Feel free to reach out to me, if you would like to discuss a submission. Deadline is March 25th.

Please push this notice to your social networks, so we get the word out. Looking forward to this session. Regards-- Carmen
