As has been stated, there aren't specific test requirements for task exhaust (snorkels), but I would measure the face velocity when they are installed. I would then re-measure once or twice a year and compare to the initial face velocity as a means of tracking performance relative to the initial conditions. This will help alert you to maintenance/performance issues.

If the snorkels are being used to control exposures, CalOSHA expects them to be performance certified annually. I'm not sure if that's an expectation in other states. The code reference is 8CCR5143(a)(5).
