Demystify:

As many of you know, CHAS has been hosting the CANN subdivision for the past several years. The CANN group has a clear goal of eventually attaining full Division status, and as members of CHAS we can help support this goal by joining the subdivision. There is no cost, and the process is as simple as a one sentence email.

As the most multi-disciplinary technical Division within ACS, we have traditionally supported aspects of the chemistry enterprise that go beyond traditional boundaries. The CANN subdivision represents chemists and biochemists involved in the cannabis industry who are striving for acceptance in the ACS community. They are making great strides in technical programming, business networking, and fundraising, but need to continue to add members. By joining the subdivision, you can help assure a continued emphasis in chemical health & safety in the cannabis industry. This field of chemistry is expanding rapidly, and there are many health & safety concerns that need to be addressed. CHAS can be a great partner to CANN going forward, whether as a subdivision, or a full Division out on its own. Please consider joining.

If you are a CHAS member, all you need to do is send an email to service**At_Symbol_Here**acs.org that says:  I am a member of the Division of Chemical Health & Safety (CHAS). Please add me to the membership list for the CANN subdivision (Code G29). Thank you.

I tried it and my membership was confirmed by email the next day.
