Under supervision, serves as an Associate Chemical Hygiene Officer (ACHO) for UC Davis. Promotes the prevention of occupational injuries or illnesses from chemical and other hazards in the laboratory and other research- related environments. Completes laboratory accident and incident investigation, identifies corrective actions, and documents Lessons Learned. Facilitates reporting and dissemination of Near-Miss information. Supports and augments the campus chemical safety and laboratory safety programs. Provides technical guidance to faculty, staff, and students in the development and implementation of the campus Chemical Hygiene Plan, Laboratory Safety Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures. Assists EH&S and research personnel with hazard recognition, risk assessment, and development of control and mitigation strategies.
