I read that and thought without a doubt somewhere in the world, some quack, charlatan, or dumb*** is charging people to float on pools of mercury for "therapy" or fun.  Or at the very least, it's on YouTube. With a density of 13.56 g/mL you'd barely sink in at all.  Would make swimming in the Dead Sea look amateur.

Sure enough, a quick stop at our friend, lord and master, Google finds this. Of course, if you click on this you reward the guy with ad revenue, but meh:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8KzmlIEsHs  and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvVaaZ21C44

The Office of Environmental Management (EM) is issuing a task order for a lease for storage space as a DOE facility

DOE AwCincinnati -- The Office of Environmental Management (EM) is issuing a task order for a lease for storage space as a DOE facility for the long-term management and storage of elemental mercury to address DOE's responsibility as required by Section 5 of the Mercury Export Ban Act of 2008, as amended by the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act. This lease supports storage of up to 6,800 metric tons (7,480 tons) of elemental mercury in existing buildings at the Waste Control Specialists LLC (WCS) site near Andrews, Texas.
