The National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) is seeking to hire an employee to serve as the chemical compatibility, storage, and exposure assessor authority for its Boulder, Colorado site.

The employee would be hired at the ZP 03 pay scale/grade ($70,181-109,358/year) with promotion potential to the ZP 04 pay scale/grade ($100,027-153,659/year).

The employee would be assigned to the Boulder Safety, Health, and Environment Division and be responsible for:
1. Conducting comprehensive chemical compatibility studies,
2. Evaluating chemical storage and exposure risks,
3. Conducting Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) inspections of workplaces and operations that are sometimes complex with high hazard or technically difficult,
4. Providing line managers, employees, and collateral duty safety personnel with assistance in hazard recognition, assessment, and abatement options consistent with agency requirements and industry standards,
5. Analyzing diverse Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) data for trends, identify gaps or needs, and develop strategies to address those identified gaps or needs,
6. Advising NIST leadership on opportunities to improve the OSHE Management System, and
7. Managing assigned OSHE programs.
