My colleague who teaches general chemistry has had no trouble finding virtual labs for his students, but I am having much more difficulty finding virtual labs for organic chemistry. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Facebook groups have blown up for resource sharing. Some excellent education lab contingency resources as well as much more for the unique needs during our current situation are being shared at the following groups that I am already part of:

Remote Teaching Resource Group
National Chemistry Teachers
OrganiCERs: Active Learning in Organic Chemistry
ACS Division of Chemical Education

Hi all,

FYI, JOVE is offering free access to its videos through June 15th: https://www.jove.com/blog/educator-blog/jove-offers-free-access-to-extensive-stem-education-video-library-to-aid-remote-teaching-learning-as-covid-19-pandemic-shuts-down-classrooms-around-the-world/

A colleague also shared a crowdsourced list of online instruction/lab simulation resources for science courses: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18iVSIeOqKjj58xcR8dYJS5rYvzZ4X1UGLWhl3brRzCM/edit?usp=gmail#gid=0

Best,

Audrey

Greetings!

Like institutions across the country, our university is moving to online courses exclusively next week (our campus is closed this week). Our Chemistry department is looking for streaming videos on a variety of chemical processes and procedures. We do not have access to Jove videos, nor does our university intend to purchase them. My (very broad) question for the collective wisdom is whether there are any openly available repositories of lab processes (any or all levels) that you would recommend?

Cheers,
