I brought up an issue that we had with new construction in our lab, and the placement of thermostats in the lab. Here is an update.

"There‰??s still problems on a weekly basis.
One side of the lab continues to have the heater on even when it‰??s over 80F in the room. Cool air does come in occasionally, but not long enough to keep it at/under 70C. It‰??s very inconsistent.
Earlier this week the other side of the lab (Closer to the emergency exit door) would continue to have cool air come in even when it goes as low as 55F.

The thermostats have not been moved to alternate locations."

The sage continues....

WUHAN, China (Reuters) - Volunteers in hazmat suits have been spraying Wuhan with disinfectant to help the Chinese city where the coronavirus first took hold get back to work as the number of new cases in China drops.

Wuhan, where 11 million people live, had been paralysed by containment efforts imposed by authorities, who shut down public transport as well as taxi services as part of a lockdown, leaving it mostly to ordinary citizens to keep the city running.

Zhang Quan is a member of Blue Sky Rescue, China's biggest nonprofit civil rescue organization, which has been involved in helping distribute medical supplies for the epidemic.

The former soldier leads a team of 60 volunteers that has been focused on disinfecting places such as hospitals and schools.

"We have teachers, policemen, entrepreneurs," he told Reuters on Thursday about his hazmat suit-clad team, who were preparing to walk through the Wuhan Qintai Grand Theatre to disinfect its seats and hallways with white plumes of chlorine dioxide.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) ‰?? Thirteen people were taken to the hospital Thursday after an ammonia leak at a Rhode Island food-processing plant, officials said.

A hazardous materials crew responded to the Taylor Farms facility in North Kingstown at about 9:30 a.m.

None of the injuries is considered serious, Town Manager A. Ralph Mollis told WPRI-TV.

About 600 employees were evacuated while hazmat crews cleared the scene, fire Chief Scott Kettelle told WLNE-TV. The ammonia came from the company‰??s freezers, he said.

The situation was under control by noon.

Taylor Farms makes prepared foods.

UNION COUNTY, Ark. - After what is believed to be the longest trial ever held in Union County, Arkansas, a Southwest Arkansas Circuit Court has entered a judgment in favor of Global Industrial, Inc. and against El Dorado Chemical Company and El Dorado Ammonia, including interest, of approximately $8.8 million. Global Industrial, is a piping and mechanical subcontractor based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Global Industrial was represented by Logan & Lowry, LLP, of Vinita and Grove joined by R. Jeffrey Sawyer of Stone & Sawyer, PLLC, El Dorado, Arkansas.

As set forth in the Court‰??s 51-page ruling, the El Dorado Chemical plant located in Southwest Arkansas suffered damages from an explosion in 2012. El Dorado Chemical decided to rebuild what the explosion damaged and add an ammonia plant to its chemical facility.

Rather than build the ammonia plant using new materials and new engineering, El Dorado Chemical decided to combine new materials and engineering with certain pieces and engineering from an ammonia plant constructed in 1969 and shuttered in 2004. El Dorado Chemical cut up the old ammonia plant, which was located in Louisiana, and shipped it to El Dorado, Arkansas, for use in the construction project.

Mumbai: BJP Member of the Parliament (MP) Poonam Mahajan from Mumbai North Central constituency roped in her party workers and carried out the disinfection of 82 housing societies in the posh Pali Hill area of Bandra, even as a BMC advisory had prohibited private disinfection activities. The MP had also carried out such disinfection last week in big societies in Powai.

On Thursday, the third day of the disinfection drive by her in Pali Hill, 35 party workers with spraying equipment carrying her photograph were seen going about their work. Among the societies disinfected in Pali Hill were that of lyricist Gulzar, actors Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, and Sohail Khan and the bungalow of actor Dilip Kumar.

The civic body had only a few days back come out with an advisory in which it had warned against private individuals carrying out disinfection work in housing societies or elected representatives getting it done on the request of the residents of their constituencies. The civic body‰??s mayor had appealed in a special release dated March 31 insisting that the spraying of Sodium Hypochloride is dangerous.

UPDATE (4 p.m.): The Kern County Fire Department said one of the trucks was carrying 4,000 pounds of ferric chloride solution at the time of the crash, which caused a leak.

The department said ferric chloride is a corrosive substance that is toxic if swallowed. It‰??s primary use is as a water treatment chemical. An estimated 3,000 gallons of product spilled from the tank, the department said.

Firefighters were able to avoid contact with the chemical and rapidly removed the unconscious driver from the semi truck that the tanker collided with so he could get medical treatment.
