What I've discovered works the best (and I'm usually 4-5 hours in splash googles over glasses and a disposable mask): use the wire in the mask to form the mask as closely as possible to the face and tighten the goggle straps a bit more snuggly than usual. This seems to be working for me. If you have a smaller face, twisting the mask ear loops may make the fit more snug.

We have Bausch + Lomb anti fog spray, but it's not really made much difference for me. A lot of our students like it, but I think it may be a placebo effect as I see them using it twice a lab period. A former student and I have been talking about the fogging issue (he's working on his PhD nearby) and he highly recommended the "cat crap" anti fog cleaner and mentioned that the gel / paste was more effective than the spray. We're waiting on our order.

I will admit I tried spit (hey they are my goggles!) since I remember doing this while swimming in my college days. I didn't have much luck. The tighter fit seems to be the way to go.

At least I know that I'm entitled to condensation. ;)
Best,
Jennifer.

Has anyone found a workable solution to the problem with face mask+goggles= fogging in student chemistry labs?

Thanks for your assistance.
